Chapter 1: Black Sheep in a Black Barn

They have a meeting with their new acquaintances in the library, and discuss a shifty deal, that should have them all coming out on top... right?

 

What if you were told that the ancient tales of gnarled hags living deep in the forest, offering bubbling potions or mystifying enchantments in exchange for a lock of your neighbor's hair or your firstborn child were not a complete fabrication? The whole truth is even stranger; that long before our time, Witches ruled the mortal world with their unfathomable dark powers quite openly. Unfortunately for them, their Dark Patron could not protect them from the powers of the Light and they were forced to retreat from the world under threat of annihilation. Today, under the veil of a powerful spell known as the Seal of Secrets, we have all but forgotten our former oppressors who still manipulate us from the shadows. This story follows three young Would-Be-Witches who navigate this shadowed world just beyond our perception that even they barely understand, to uncover the secrets of magic at a hidden school of the Dark Arts in rural Pennsylvania. But little do they know, they will soon draw the ire of many threats that lurk within the Dark, the Light, and all the shaded area in between; powers beyond mortal comprehension who desperately wish that for some Secrets to remain Sealed.
